Pseudos Random Pitch Calculator
Pseudos Random Pitch Calculator
Pseudos from Raw Yaw Media is a feature-rich, Turing Machine–inspired random sequencer designed for hands-on musical control in Eurorack systems. Combining a lockable random CV generator with an onboard oscillator and macro CV output, Pseudos excels at creating evolving melodies, rhythms, and long-form modulation for both studio and live performance.
The main sequencer provides quantized pitch and gate outputs, while the onboard oscillator tracks the sequence and cycles through basic waveforms for immediate sound generation. A dedicated macro CV output updates at multiples of the sequence length, making it ideal for gradual timbral shifts, tempo changes, or structural modulation across repeating patterns.
Pseudos features clock input and output, allowing seamless synchronization with external gear or operation as a master clock in smaller systems. Seven selectable sequence lengths can be chosen via the front-panel buttons, with the option to combine lengths for extended patterns. Holding the shift button transforms these controls into musical mode selectors, constraining pitches to subsets of a major scale for consistently musical results.
Quant progressively adds notes from the selected mode, while Rand and Offset define the range and position of pitches across multiple octaves. Rate applies clock multiplication, and Skip introduces controlled randomness through probabilistic step skipping for dynamic, evolving rhythms. Additional shift functions unlock glide controls, macro CV timing, and key transposition. The Infinity button and CV input instantly unlock and regenerate sequences, injecting new melodic motion on demand.
With its balance of immediacy, depth, and musical focus, Pseudos is a powerful centerpiece for improvisation, generative patching, and performance-oriented Eurorack systems.
